The Stadium - "Nicolae Dobrin"
Name: Nicolae Dobrin
Address: Pitesti, Str. Stadionului
Seating capacity: 16,500 (Chairback seating: 16,500)
Attendance record: 28,000 spectators, in 1979, FC Arges - Nottingham Forest, 2nd round of European Champions Cup.
Directions: It is very easy to find the stadium from any direction. It is located in one of the highest points of the city of Pitesti, near the “Trivale” forest (its first name was “Trivale” and FC Arges is also often called as “the team from Trivale”), so you can reach it almost from any direction by continuously going upward :-)!
From the city center: in front of Hotel Trivale, you can take the Eroilor Blvd. upward until you reach the intersection with the Stadionului St.; the stadium is directly left of that intersection.
From Bucharest: Bucharest-Pitesti Highway continued with Petrochimistilor Blvd., then left to the (Gh. Doja) St., left to Pescarilor St., and finally Stadionului St.
From Slatina: enter Pitesti on Calea Craiovei, then Pescarilor St., and Stadionului St.
The access to the stadium is made through two gates, both on the Stadionului St. The away supporters usually have their places reserved on the South Netside Stand (the one with the scoreboard), which is accessed from the Sports Center gate.

Chanting of the FC Arges fans
*The county of Arges is well known for one of the most appreciated sorts of Romanian "tzuika" - a sort of plum brandy
**The car “Dacia”, now Renault’s second brand, is produced in the county of Arges at Colibasi, near Pitesti
***Nicolae Dobrin is, alongside Gheorghe Hagi, the most appreciated Romanian football player of all times
They are at the stadium each game the team is playing, no matter if it rains, if it snows, or if the weather is torrid. They are hoping their team will win. Many people consider them lunatics. On the day of the match, they forget about their families, obligations, about everything; the most important thing for them becomes their presence to the game. Given the hard economical conditions of Romania, they still spend a lot of money to travel and to stand by the team also in the away games. Many times it happens that they are fined or beaten by our well-known Police forces (well known for its "gentleness" - it seems that a new component of their practice is now to break the bones of the football fans who have the impertinence to express their happiness when their team scores). They may have confrontations with the opponents' supporters. But those thing don't matter, everything fades away when their team wins. Without them the game of football would lose on the spectacular side, it may even not exist. By the way, what could be more depressing than a football game on an empty stadium?
Grouped into various factions like "The Violet Eagles", "Violet Republic", or "Ultras Viola" (all re-united in 2005 under the name of Ultras Viola), the FC Arges supporters are well known as being very attached to the team; we can say that "FC Arges never walk alone" in Romania, the fans being on their side everywhere in the country. Many times Arges supporters traveled in a massive number to encourage the team, especially for the Romanian Cup matches, a painful missing in our trophy record; against Universitatea Craiova (semifinals, 1994, 10,000 supporters at Bucharest; semifinals, 1998, 5,000 supporters at Ramnicu Valcea), against Steaua Bucharest, and Dinamo Bucharest (in 1994, and with other various occasions, 5,000 supporters at Targoviste).
Our most important "enemies" are the supporters of the teams from Bucharest (Steaua, Dinamo, Rapid) and our Oltenian neighbor supporters of Universitatea Craiova. The fans from the Romanian Capital city, Bucharest, are always coming in Pitesti like in a "countryside trip", confident that nothing bad could happen to them. Many times they are forced by the final score and by the Arges fans to remember that incidents may happen even in the "countryside". Incidents that sometimes transformed into "accidents" for them, because the white and violet fans will never tolerate insolent or injurious actions from their rivals in their own home city. The most painful correction happened in 1990/1991, when the fans of Rapid Bucharest, frustrated by what was happening on the field, started damaging the stadium and throwing wood debris onto the field. The Police stopped their attempt to enter the field and calmed them promptly. After the game, the furious Arges fans hunted them all over Pitesti, and the ones who didn't run very fast from the city paid hardly for their mistake. Hard loss on the field for the team of Rapid, hard loss outside it for its supporters, a lesson well learned by the Bucharest fans and still vivid in their minds, because nothing similar happened in Pitesti since.
Anyway, we are always warmly welcoming the supporters of our opponents, as long as they remember to respect the fact that the city of Pitesti was, it is, and it will ever be WHITE AND VIOLET.
